Stories are bridges — between languages, cultures, and hearts. Through laughter, imagination, and play, Jaime E. Riascos invites children to see the world with new eyes and to find joy in every story told. His work celebrates the expression, empathy, and happiness of Latin American storytelling — transforming every performance into a space of connection and wonder.
“This work connects my performances to the living legacy of oral traditions that continue to inspire and educate new generations.” — Jaime Riascos
A colorful, heartwarming storytelling program about openness, friendship, and the beauty of diversity. Rainbow Caterpillar invites children to be open to new friends and to welcome differences in all their colors.
A beloved children’s tale often told in Latin American schools. Minisifundio lives in a small house with his family, dreaming all day of sweet candies and desserts. Through humor, tenderness, and suspense, this story highlights the importance of listening to our parents and understanding the love behind their care.
One of the most popular and retold legends in Latin America — a mix of mystery, laughter, and suspense. This program also includes La Llorona, inviting children into a world of mythical beings, ghosts, and ancient spirits, where every story awakens wonder and laughter.
Jaime Riascos’s workshops and residencies are designed as educational experiences that integrate storytelling, literacy, and creative expression into the learning process. Each session is grounded in a pedagogical framework that values imagination as a fundamental component of language development, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness. His programs combine structured learning objectives with creative activities that promote reading comprehension, oral communication, and empathy across diverse age groups.
Since 1988, Jaime E. Riascos has been devoted to the art of storytelling — a journey that began in Colombia, where he helped found the Colombian Storytelling Movement. Originally trained as a civil engineer, he made a life-changing decision to dedicate himself entirely to writing, storytelling, public speaking, and education — convinced that stories can build bridges stronger than concrete, connecting hearts and awakening imagination.
As an actor, writer, and performer, he has brought hundreds of stories to life, using humor, imagination, and heart to connect with audiences of all ages.
Between 2003 and 2010, Jaime toured the United States, performing and leading workshops at more than two dozen universities — including Stanford University, Dartmouth College, Santa Clara University, and Niagara University. These years established him as one of the most recognized Latin American voices in bilingual storytelling.
